How Do Deodorants Work?
Perspiration is the moisture given off by the skin from activity of the sweat glands. The characteristic odor of sweat is caused by the breakdown, or decompostion, of the sweat by bacteria. Deodorant antiperspirants are used to counteract the unpleasant smells by destroying or masking the smell. Deodorants come in powder, liquid, cream, lotion, spray, and stick forms. However perspiration also plays an important part in maintaining general health and in prevent skin infection.
