What is Zujava?

Zujava is a new content contribution site, much like HubPages. No need for an Adsense account the earnings are calculated on a 'leafs' (articles) popularity and paid out via Paypal.

If you can build a hub, you can build a leaf. It's simple, easy and best of all, free!

Creating Your First (Hub-like) Leaf

To create a page, you'll click "create a leaf" and be brought to the intro. From the intro, you'll be able to customize the URL, write the intro, leaf title, pick a topic, and input your tags. Save that page and away you go. You can add additional sections (modules) from the sidebar tool.

What Type Of Content Is Allowed?

Pretty much what you can get away with at HubPages will be the same criteria at Zujava. There will be an emphasis on quality and a minimum word count of 250 words.

Referral System

HubPages givers a referrer 10% of the ad impressions of a referred author. Zujava's referral is similar, except they're giving 20% of the earnings (out of their share) of whatever your referral is making.

In fact, for every user you refer to Zujava for the first year (until February 1, 2013) that amount will be 25%.

What a great incentive to encourage your friends and family to sign up too and get them publishing online.

Payment

Payment is made via Paypal.

Once out of Beta (May) there will be 60 day lead time, automatically paid monthly.

During Beta (from January 23 to April 23 2012) it will be 90 day lead time and they will send out the payment for the first one manually.

But I'm Already Hubbing!

Yes, you are.

And there's nothing stopping you from creating a Zujava account, publishing great content, and linking to your hubs.

How cool (and cute) is the logo!

What timing darkside. I was recently pondering AdSense-free options. If diversifying, seems it would be an excellent idea to have options NOT dependent on AS.

Always good to bump into you. I check your profile from time to time to see if you're still active here. Tried to find you on Wizzley, and I think I did. Not darkside there or Zujava?

HP is pretty much the only place I am known as Darkside. Over there I'll be Glen.

I was just checking my email notification of new hubs and was surprised to see your name! This sounds rather interesting. Is this your site? Can we browse the site before joining? I like the name and the logo. Very cool!

We miss you around here. :-

I will try it out under you. Question: Darkside, I'm curious what your thoughts are about having different user names vs a main user name on various sites? Thank you.

There are benefits of using the same name. But I think the same can be said by using different names too, for completely different reasons.

If you're working heavily in the one niche you could really stamp your name as being an expert in the field if you used the same name.

Personally, I like to mix things up. I use different names at different sites.

Interesting! This is another one to put on my list. I checked out the layout and it is certainly an attractive site. It's nice to know what's out there!

Hey Glen, I joined Zujava through your link. My first leaf tied for third place in the recent contest. The prize is a blog post singing my leaf's praises, which I will print for my portfolio!

Really cool joining Zujava in their infancy. The competition is small compared to HP contests. I just got selected as one of the two grand prize winners for this month's contest, and will be getting Dragon Naturally Speaking. Another nice entry for my portfolio.

Congratulations!

With it being in its infancy and so many of the prolific writers coming from HubPages and Squidoo it's nice to see familiar faces win these contents.

I know! I don’t have much traffic yet, but I'm super proud of my wins.

Dragon Speak wasn't so much a motivator though. I tried using it a few years back for my patient documentation. I dutifully completed several training modules, including one for radiologists, which I thought was perfect for me as an upper extremity therapist. Not so much. Maybe the Dragon just can’t understand a Southern accent. Some of the errors were funny enough that I started a Word doc to record them. Here are a couple:

lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow)= latter leprechaun the lightest

DeQuervain’s (tenosynovitis of the thumb)= the queer brains

Dupuytren’s contracture (disease of the palmar fascia)= to deterrence contractor

That's hysterical! You should make a hub (or a leaf) about that!
